Replace toon with ecobee3 lite?

How can I replace toon with an ecobee3 lite?
Ecobee from my understanding needs 3 wires. While I only get 2 wires from the toon setup. one is 24V and the other one I believe is used by toon to send power back to the boiler to signal heat on.
Boiler is connected to the ketelmodule which then wires back to the living room.

Do I need a fast-stat common maker or an external 24VAC transformer?

Also how safe is it if I mess up something?

This is a toon forum, not ecobee. I did a simple google search and found the answer very easy.

The ketelmodule is for use with the toon only and you will have to remove this when hou want to use some other themostat.

I have already seen this link but it's still not clear that's why I was asking for help here.

How do I know what wires the ketelmodule is using? From what I can see on my boiler they're not marked as R/C/ etc. From what I understand the toon is also a 24v thermostat and I believe my boiler is set to OpenTherm. Does that mean no power is provided from the boiler?

Not from the boiler the power is injected through the ketelmodule.
